"He stifled democracy, subjected his people to hyperinflation, and turned the country from a (food) exporter to a net importer." "His disgraceful record was proof that one man could ruin a country." *
* from page #351 of "W" book, "Decision Points". And no "W" was not speaking of PP at the time (Feb 2008), rather Robert Mugabe of Zimbawe. One could substitute the letters PP and the mantel, could apply in real time.
Had PP supported the people in the streets in Iran in the summer of 2009, and took a firm stance against the leaders of that nation, and warned if they don't conform, military action would be taken within 24 hours. They might of taken the route of reform. But oh no, Iranian leaders will listen to reason says PP. BS! The only thing those people respect is military power, the more the better and use it. PP had no chips to open this poker game of words, and he lost his ass big time. Now the whole Middle East countries are revolting since there is no super power in the area any more. I am not against people's overthrow of dictators, like in Egypt, but the "Muslim Brotherhood" and Hamas have there own agenda. The Suez Canel/ Red Sea lane, if lost, would tie Europe and the USA up in knots.
