Today in History and etc.
Fifty-six years ago today, Allied forces landed and made a beach head in Normandy, France. This event turned the tide in WW 2, but it took almost 13 month later to conclude. The cliffs at the Cliff at Pont du Hoc today are under repair not from war, but from an an even greater force... Mother Nature. Erosion from harsh winters and raging storm has taken its toll.
