S.Africa beats Hollywood
-A S.African judge earlier this AM granted an Oscar, bail, pending trial in mid-June. Hollywood don't grant Oscars until later this month.
-With note, S African judicial system does not have trial by jury, rather one judge rules. There maybe other support persons on the judge's court, but not seated with the judge.
-The S.African state case took a hit yesterday when their chief investigator was found to be on another murder case, where is a defendant. Holy cow! No vetting system atall.
-I think I have an answer for not having a jury of peers making final judgement. There are at least 10 languages spoken in S.Africa: Afrikaan, English, Ndebel, Sotho, Sessotti, Swat, Tsonga, Tswana, Venda and Xhosa.
-The WH to sign off on an additional $18B for green energy projects even though the track record is strewn with dozens of companies that went belly up or sold to foreign counties. The latest the all electric "Fester" auto. The Chinese are buying the company, that American taxpayers poured hundreds of million of tax dollars into since 2009. Not sure if company is being moved to China?
-A week from today we celebrate Asiatic Fleet Memorial Day, so my calander tells me. Sharing March 1, is another man-made invention "Sequestration Day". If they don't kick the can down the street this time 60 days, maybe WH and Congress will come to grips with this initial spending cut, a meer 0.3% of GDP across the board. That is a spending cut of only $48B in an economy of $16T. Another trick they could do to cushion a 0.3% spending cut impact is to allow the Military to make the cuts of $24B to set priority with least impact on people. The $24B in Domestic cuts could do likewise. Will that happen? One can hope and pray a leader pops up to show the way. Otherwise our fate will be an re-enactment of what is happening in Europe now.
