New Pope
1- Is the Pope setting term limits on his office? Maybe not. He is showing good judgement on when to call it quites, for good of the Church. The College of Cardinals should establish both a minimum and maxiumun age limits for future candidates to assure they are physically capable to take on the huge task of running the biggest private organization in the free world. There is a trend of Pope years in office. A Pope that serves for many years, is followed by one serving a short duration in this case 7 years. However, none have resigned from office since something like 1416, the rest have died in office.
2. This will provide a diversion for pp... when he refocuses his attention on the #1 PRIORITY... cut spending and don't add more tax revenue. Sequestering kicks in the day after Pope leaves office or March 1, 2013.
3-So why is pp mustering his troops to focus on gun control, which will never pass and immigration that has about the same odds of passing as the former issue in the near term. Diversion.
