Continuation and some thoughts

-The last transmittal apparantly was subliminal so a second attempt will be made.
-Conti...How my SW Ohio township is handling the $s short fall from Columbus.

-Moving the contract negtations up one year with vote by police and fire/ems later this week.
-W/O a new contract 5 members each police and fire/ems will be laid off.
-Each department has one member each to resigning and those positions will not be backfilled.
-Fire/ems to have their pay frozen for 3 years, including changes and overtime pay issues.
-Township trustees agreed to put a 1-mil 5-year tax levy on 2012 ballot for fire/ems.
-Nothing appears to occur with police manning levels or issues unless the contract is rejected.
-Note: Every 10 years the County auditor is required to reassess real estate property values. An average of 39% decrease in tax revenue will impact the township revenue stream starting 3Q12.
